Meet the Team
FireFly
Co-Facilitator | Lead Mare | Generational Wisdom Keeper
At 27 years old, FireFly is the guardian of the herd and the embodiment of lived experience. Her name comes from the tiny white star on her forehead—once the only thing visible as she danced in the pasture at night as a foal. That glow has never faded.
FireFly carries a legacy unlike most. Born and raised on this very farm, she is the third generation of her lineage to live here—a rare story in the horse world. She grew up beside her grandmother, mother, and sister Sugar, absorbing a lifetime of herd knowledge in the safety of a stable, loving environment. That unique experience shaped her into what she is today: a true elder, a teacher, and a fiercely loyal protector.
She earned her place as lead mare after the passing of her mother, not through dominance, but through presence, consistency, and respect. FireFly has quietly watched generations of children grow up around her and has helped raise many more through riding lessons and quiet companionship.
FireFly teaches with clarity and calm. She is the firm but fair voice in the herd, quick to correct a pushy dog or ward off an uninvited guest with a glance that says, “Not today.” Her strength is tempered by grace, her leadership rooted in love.
In her presence, clients learn about legacy, belonging, and the quiet power of earned wisdom. FireFly reminds us that real leadership doesn’t rush—it remembers, it watches, and when the time is right, it steps forward with unwavering purpose.
Dreamer
Co-Facilitator | Equine Educator | Herd Mother
At 17 years old, Dreamer brings a calm, knowing presence that anchors the herd and the humans alike. Dreamer holds the title of “most formally educated” in the group— Her understanding of what’s meant to happen is balanced by her remarkable patience as she quietly waits for the right cue.
Dreamer brings the grounded energy of a nurturing mother to every interaction. Her calm gaze and gentle movements invite safety and stillness, even in the midst of emotional storms. She knows the job—sometimes better than the humans do—but she waits patiently for the right cue, offering grace instead of judgment when the timing is off.
Her wisdom lies in the pause. In her presence, clients learn to slow down, listen inwardly, and build trust with themselves and others. Dreamer teaches that true leadership is rooted in compassion, and that connection thrives when approached with softness, patience, and respect.
Whether she’s holding space for healing or quietly modelling the power of quiet confidence, Dreamer reminds us all that knowing when to wait is just as important as knowing when to move.
Candy
Co-Facilitator | Adventure Mare | Heart with Hooves
Genuine Miss Candy—affectionately known as Candy or Candy Cane—is a 24-year-old American Paint mare whose spirit is as vibrant as her beautifully splashy coat. She shares a birthday with her beloved human, Andrea—a bond that’s grown into an unshakable partnership built on trust, love, and a whole lot of treats.
Candy is a true connector. She gravitates toward people, happily stepping into relationship with warmth and presence. Whether offering a gentle nuzzle or a curious nose in your pocket, she teaches that connection isn’t something we chase—it’s something we offer, moment by moment, with heart wide open.
Over the years, Candy has galloped through barrels, explored mountain trails, camped under starlit skies, danced through Western and English dressage, and even taken flight over jumps. She’s worn many saddles and carried many stories—and through it all, she’s remained grounded in who she is: steady, kind, and joyfully willing.
Though capable of leadership, Candy is most at ease beside a calm, confident partner. In stillness and companionship, she shines her brightest. Her wisdom reveals itself in the quiet moments—in a shared breath, a long grooming session, or a simple walk side by side.
Candy reminds us that loyalty is felt, not forced… that adventure and safety can coexist… and that the most powerful relationships are built with patience, trust, and the occasional apple.
Sugar
Co-Facilitator | Companion Mare | Teacher of Trust
At 24 years old, Sugar is the sweetheart of the herd—true to her name in every way. With her soft baby face and gentle demeanour, she’s everyone’s friend, human and horse alike. She’s the “little sister” of the group, known for her playful spirit, kind heart, and the quiet comfort she offers simply by being present.
Sugar was born and raised right here on the farm, alongside her sister FireFly. Their bond runs deep, even if Sugar sometimes finds her big sister a little too bossy. Fortunately, she forgives easily and loves fiercely. Her lifelong place within this multi-generational herd has given her a deep understanding of connection, safety, and emotional attunement.
She may not be a leader, but she’s no pushover—Sugar will happily follow, unless she senses something’s not right. Her quiet confidence helps clients explore boundaries with gentleness and clarity. She is careful with people, often adjusting her movements to match the energy and needs of those beside her.
Sugar teaches that trust is earned with consistency, kindness, and patience. She reminds us that we don’t have to be loud to be strong, and that offering comfort is a powerful form of leadership in itself.
Clients often find themselves drawn to Sugar when they need to feel seen, safe, and supported. She reminds us that sweetness is not weakness, and that sometimes, the gentlest voices carry the most profound wisdom.
Reba
Co-Facilitator | Equine Wisdom Keeper | Escape Artist Extraordinaire
At 8 years old, Reba brings a playful, curious, and deeply intuitive energy to every session. She approaches life with a childlike sense of wonder—charmed by zippers, shoelaces, and anything that smells remotely like a snack. Reba is known for untying herself (and occasionally others), requiring a few extra knots and a good sense of humour to stay one step ahead of her clever antics.
But don’t be fooled by her mischief—Reba is a gifted teacher. Through her interactions, she offers powerful lessons in connection, boundaries, and mutual respect. She invites clients to be present, to listen with more than just their ears, and to engage with others from a place of authenticity.
Reba reminds us that sometimes the most profound truths come wrapped in laughter, nuzzles, and the jingling of an “accidentally” opened gate. Her presence is a gentle but firm call to stay curious, stay grounded, and never underestimate the wisdom of a horse with a passion for adventure and snacks.
